Quando ho avuto tra le mani i componenti Sowden della lampada, due cose mi sono venute in mente. Disegnare una lampada a luce indiretta per via di un grande riflettore verticale – la forma della lampadina LED si presta perfettamente – e concepire un oggetto composito la cui unità risulta dall’assemblaggio di diversi elementi. Il carattere smontabile dell’oggetto aumenta la leggibilità della sua natura composita.
When I held the Sowden components of the lamp in my hands, two things came to mind. The first was to create a lamp with indirect light using a large vertical reflector — the shape of the LED bulb fits perfectly. The second was to design a composite object whose unity emerges from the assembly of distinct elements. The lamp’s removable construction further reveals and reinforces his composite nature.
